Since the SARS outbreak the role of air-conditioning and ventilation, in preventing airborne infections has drawn extensive attention. Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) is an effective method of air and surface disinfection when integrated with the HVAC system of the building. It utilizes ultraviolet (UV) light to deactivate the Virus by disrupting and destroying its DNA so they are unable to perform its vital cellular functions and ultimately gets killed.
